Rooted in our history,
Which underpins our evolution.
Filippo Tassara starts producing nails for shipbuilding in Voltri, in the province of Genoa.
The company founded by Filippo expands over the years and changes its name to “Ferriere di Voltri.”
On behalf of “Ferriere di Voltri”, Carlo Tassara – Filippo’s youngest son – moves to Val Camonica to manage a tinplate production plant in Corna di Darfo.
Carlo Tassara decides to separate from the family business and begins building his own plant in Breno, where the current production site stands today.
Carlo invites Engineer Söderberg to Breno to test his invention, the continuous electrode. The Breno plant becomes known as the “University of the Electric Furnace.”
Carlo Tassara Stabilimenti Elettrosiderurgici S.p.A. is established, still operating today at the Breno plant under the name Carlo Tassara S.p.A.
In the post-war period, Carlo Tassara strengthens the production of manganese ferroalloys, electric power, and special steels.
The so-called “Imperial Project” takes shape, leading to the creation of a combined
steelmaking and forging hub within a single production site, followed by a progressive expansion of forging facilities.
Metalcam S.p.A. is founded, consolidating production processes previously managed by Carlo Tassara S.p.A. Engineer Romain Zaleski joins the ownership and management of both companies.
Adamello Steel S.p.A. is established, specializing in the production of steel plates. In the
same year, construction begins on new facilities that now house the machining and final inspection departments.
Two new machine shops are established – Adamello Meccanica S.r.l. and B.S. S.r.l. – dedicated respectively to finishing and rough machining, further completing the company’s production cycle.
A new 3,000 m² facility is built within the Breno plant, now housing the rough inspection and shipping departments.
Engineer Konstantin Zaleski is appointed Chief Executive Officer of Metalcam S.p.A.
The Metalcam Group, with over 200 employees, specialises in the production of high-quality custom steel forgings and operates from an integrated production site covering 75,000 m².
The Carlo Tassara and Metalcam Groups employ a total of more than 230 people in the sectors of forging, steel trading and electricity generation, with the younger generations of the Tassara and Zaleski families involved in the management of the companies.
